There are 3 types of venues: Traditional, non-traditional and personal.
Examples of traditional venues are hotel ballrooms, banquet halls, church halls etc. This type is often preferred by most brides because it is often equipped to cater to such events, it can accommodate a larger number of guests; their design and ambience add to the glamour of the wedding décor.
Non-traditional venues include art galleries, warehouses, parks etc These often require a great deal of creativity and ingenuity to pull off the desired look.
The last is the personal home of the couple or friends; this type works for more intimate ceremonies depending on the size of the home. However, permission may be required from the owner as only certain activities may be permissible in the home.
Traditional venue types in the GTA offer in house catering and prices are fixed per head requiring that the in house catering is utilised. Alternatively, other venues offer the space and outside cratering is permitted.
Yet others have hybrid of partial in-house catering while outside catering is allowed and offered in a buffet style to guests.
